BORDER LINES

This design is very practical: the rows of bricks are laid at the same level as the lawn, making it easy to mow (and less work to trim). The lawnmower can be pushed hard up against the zigzag edging that holds back the earth, with its wheels running along the brick track next to it.

There are a number of options you may want to consider before starting. First of all, think about the style of your garden and whether or not this traditional English pattern is suitable. For a more modern look, for example, you could have a single line of black bricks partnered with a line of blue glazed tiles.

This is a very simple project to make and you are unlikely to encounter any problems. In fact, it is an ideal project to begin with if you are new to brickwork.
